Learning To Fly
At Doncaster Sheffield Flying School we offer a range of courses. These can be tailor-made to suit your busy schedule or finances. All of the courses are taught by experienced, professional instructors who can get the most out of you. Gaining a Private Pilots License (or an extra rating) is achievable for most people and here at Doncaster Sheffield Flying School, we pride ourselves in the diversity of our members, with ages ranging from 14 to 84 years!

JAR Private Pilots License (PPL)
The private pilot’s licence is a wonderful way to broaden your horizons and open up a whole new world. It becomes very easy to jet off to the Isle of Man for lunch or to France to stock up on duty free!
National Private Pilots License (NPPL)
The NPPL is valid in the UK only and you cannot add any extra ratings or qualifications to the license, meaning you will be restricted to flying in good weather, by day.
Ground and Radio Examinations
The course for a JAR-PPL involves seven ground examinations. These examinations are all flying related and most of the knowledge you gain will be used in the air.
IMC Rating
Having achieved a JAR-PPL you are free to rent or buy a share in an aircraft. However it is also possible to add additional ratings to your license, which allow you to do more things.
Night Qualification
Well done, you've completed your PPL. Now what? How about adding a night qualification to your license.
