Night Qualification

Well done, you've completed your JAA-PPL. Now what? How about adding a night qualification to your license.

Night flying is one of the most enjoyable things in aviation. Not only are there spectacular views to enjoy, your flying skills get greatly improved as a result of this little course. The night qualification consists of 5 hours of flight training, 3 hours of this must be dual training, and at least one hour must be navigation. As with gaining a PPL, there is also a solo element where you will complete 5 solo take off and landings.

We usually undertake the Night Qualification in one of the school's Piper Warrior PA-28 aircraft. It provides a nice stable platform, and has more than adequate lighting. If you haven't flown a PA-28 before this is a great opportunity to do some differences training, at the same time as gaining another qualification.

There is no test involved, and as it is a qualification rather than a rating, it never expires - once you’ve got it, you can’t lose it.
